Our correspondent Kolkata, August 24, 2026: MY Bharat West Bengal is going to Organise “Khelo India Samvaad” Across 46 Locations on National Sports Day. MY Bharat West Bengal, in coordination with the National Service Scheme (NSS), West Bengal and the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Kolkata, is organising “Khelo India Samvaad” on 27th August 2026 across 46 locations in West Bengal as part of the nationwide celebrations of National Sports Day.
On this occasion, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji, will virtually address the youth of India across the country, connecting with young participants gathered at designated locations nationwide. In West Bengal, the programme will be organised simultaneously at 46 designated locations, covering educational institutions and youth-centric venues across the State. Prominent institutions including Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur and National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur are among the key locations where youth will participate in the programme.  A special feature of the Khelo India Samvaad will be the physical participation of eminent athletes and sportspersons at the event venues. Their presence will provide young participants with an opportunity to interact with and draw inspiration from accomplished personalities from the world of sports. The interaction with eminent athletes will further reinforce the message of dedication, discipline, perseverance and excellence in sporting life.
The programme seeks to inspire the youth to embrace sports and fitness and to understand the opportunities available through India’s growing sporting ecosystem. Initiatives such as Khelo India have provided young players from villages, small towns and far-off places greater opportunities to come forward and pursue sporting excellence.
The event will also highlight the increasing importance of scientific and professional support in sports, including sports science, technology, data, nutrition, recovery, coaching and performance analysis, which are now becoming an integral part of an athlete’s development.
The participation of youth from 46 locations across West Bengal, along with the physical presence of eminent athletes and sportspersons, will add a special dimension to the State-level celebrations. It will provide young participants with an opportunity not only to be part of the Prime Minister’s nationwide virtual address but also to engage directly with sporting personalities.
MY Bharat West Bengal, NSS West Bengal and SAI Kolkata are jointly working to ensure extensive youth participation and to promote a strong culture of sports, fitness and excellence across the State.
The Khelo India Samvaad on 27th August 2026 is expected to serve as a significant platform for connecting the youth of West Bengal with the national sporting movement and inspiring them to dream bigger, pursue excellence and contribute to the vision of a stronger and more sporting India.
